Heat With a History

Fireman's Fuel started out as the best sauces often do — a homemade kitchen creation. Over 50 years ago, Patrick Asbell, a firefighter with Gainesville Fire Rescue in Northeast Florida, crafted the sauce recipe to share with his family and fellow firefighters. Decades later, the Asbell family still proudly cultivates a crop of datil peppers that are direct descendants of the original plants, preserving their famously unique sweet-heat flavor profile that started it all.

We don't mass-produce. Every bottle is made in small batches using premium ingredients that let the flavor speak for itself — a little sweet, a little kick, and exactly the kind of heat you reach for again and again.

Whether you're a lifelong datil devotee or discovering Florida's golden pepper for the very first time, Fireman's Fuel is a perfect addition for a vast array of dishes from surf to turf, and for anyone bold enough to handle it.
